From Beginner Whitewater to North Shore Creeking

Baptism River

Classic North Shore Lake Superior River. Run from Eck-beck campground to Ilagen falls for some great class III/IV whitewater fun. After a short warm up paddlers enter “Confinement Canyon” class III + (scout river right)
Enjoy the class II ride before the river picks back up and into “Kramer’s Choice” class IV. Depending on the river level, sometimes it ia easier to paddle left of Kramer’s and sometimes it is easier to paddle right. (scout river left)
The Baptism River picks up again for “Gustafson Falls” a class III+ 6 foot drop with a quick right hand turn at the end, a couple more enjoyable rapids and then start watch for Ilagen Falls. Exit river left.
