Get hands on experience preparing, traveling, navigating, using your gear, camping, cooking, and a summit attempt.
Take the knowledge gained in class and transfer it
to real situations while making a summit attempt of a Cascade Mountain.

5-Day Alpine Mountaineering Course
Push yourself physically while learning new technical mountaineering and alpine climbing skills.
Spend eight days learning advanced climbing technique and the mountain travel skills that will get you to new heights.
Mountaineering instruction includes:
- Crevasse self-rescue and team crevasse rescue techniques,
- Navigation in the alpine environment,
- Hazard assessment – inclement weather, avalanche, rock, and ice fall dangers.
Curriculum covered:
- Traditional gear placement and anchoring
- Practice lead climbing and lead belaying dynamics with traditional gear
- Rappelling, multi-pitch techniques, and rope management
- Snow anchor construction
- Steep snow climbing, practicing crampon techniques
- Rope team management
- Glacier travel and crevasse field navigation
- Mountain weather, mountain hazards.
