Please note: The Kettle River is a free flowing river. The Kettle River goes up and down with the rain. Hard Water Sports does not control the water level. At times when the river is high we run large rafts on the river. as the river drops we give clients the option of paddling inflatable kayaks or rafts. And at lower water levels everyone is in kayaks.
Easy Access to Minnesota White Water
Just an hour north of Minneapolis your adventure starts in the small town of Sandstone, Minnesota. The easy to find location is just off Interstate 35 half way between Minneapolis and Duluth.
Minnesota white water rafting trips run from mid April through September.

Hell’s Gate on the Kettle River
The rapids on the Hell’s Gate section of the Kettle River are action-packed with spectacular views. The 3-3 ½ hour trip races through rapids that vary from intermediate to advanced in difficulty. The current is swift and the rapids are challenging,
Be prepared for hard paddling, teamwork and getting wet.
