Yes, Hard Water Sports supplies all the needed equipment for your day of ice climbing on the frozen walls of Robinson Park in Sandstone, MN. From the helmet to the crampons and everything in between – including climbing boots, harnesses and ice axes. we’ve got you covered.
We’ll also have all the ropes and anchoring equipment for top rope climbing.
2. Long Winters
Minnesota has long winters. Doesn’t matter if you live in the state or if you’re just visiting, you can’t pretend winter isn’t a thing. It’s best if you can get out and try to enjoy them. Cabin fever is real.
On a guided ice climbing adventure with Hard Water Sports you’ll be out in all the glory of nature yet only a short distance from your car and only minutes from a Sandstone Minnesota coffee shop. In addition to the easy accessible ice climbing, there the hiking trails of Banning State Park.
3. Hot Chocolate
There are a lot of perks to having a knowledgeable guide with you on your day of ice climbing. From putting on your crampons to giving you climbing tips, a local guide will help to make your day happy and successful.
Need and extra pair of gloves or a down jacket or maybe a cup of hot chocolate – having the right guide can make or break an adventure.

Guided Ice Climbing in Minnesota
Hard Water Sports is located right in downtown Sandstone Minnesota only 3 minutes from the ice climbing in Robinson Park. Starting in mid December we offer fully outfitted, guided ice climbing outings daily.
Our climbing classes are design for adventure lover of all athletic levels. Climbers 10 years of age and older are welcome to take our climbing classes.
